Artisit of the Week

Many of you enjoy is music some of you have never come by his name. If you are familar with my home page you will know who the artist of the week is. His name is Gavin Degraw. He is famous for his album, "Chariot" one of my favorite songs by him which I wil share with you. Remember you can become one to just share one of your songs on the blog and I will choose from the lyrics.

"Chariot"

Staring at a maple leaf
Leaning on the mother tree
I said to myself we all lost touch
Your favorite fruit is chocolate covered cherries
And seedless watermelon ohhhh
Nothing from the ground is good enough
Body rised
It puts over me

[Chorus:]
Oh chariot your golden waves
are walking down upon this face
Oh chariot I'm singing out loud
To guide me
Give me your...
Strength

Remember seeking moons rebirth
Rains made mirrors of the earth
The sun was just yellow energy
It is a living promise land
Even over fields of sand
Seasons fill my mind and
Cover me
From bringing back
More than a memory

[Chorus]

You'll be my vacation away from this place
You know what I want
Holding that cup,
It's pouring over the sides
Make me wanna spread my arms and fly

[Chorus]

Catch Up

Ok, so for all that read this from the start we have learned three tips,
1.) Use a thesaurus/ Use feelings emotions
2.) Make your own form of a song don't go by the rule book
3.) DO NOT START WITH A TONE!

Now I will share one of my favorite songs with you by an artist, Gavin DeGraw who is our artist of the week (you to can become one!) It is called Belief:

Belief
Makes things real
Makes things feel
Feel alright
Belief
Makes things true
Things like you
You and I
Tonight, you arrested my mind
When you came to my defense
With a knife
In the shape of your mouth
In the form of your body
With the wrath of a god
Oh, you stood by me
Belief
Builds from scratch
Doesn't have to relax
It doesn't need space
Long live the queen and I'll be the king
In the collar of grace
Tonight, you arrested my mind
When you came to my defense
With a knife
In the shape of your mouth
In the form of your body
With the wrath of a god
Oh, you stood by me
Belief
I'm going to yell it from the rooftops
I'll wear a sign on my chest
That's the least I can do
Tonight, you arrested my mind
When you came to my defense
With a knife
In the shape of your mouth
In the form of your body
With the wrath of a god
Oh, you stood by me
Tonight, you arrested my mind
When you came to my defense
With a knife
In the shape of your mouth
In the form of your body
With the wrath of a god
Oh, you stood by me
And I'll stand by my
Belief

Tip #3

Hello,
I am back for all of you who have been reading this and thank you for that. I am starting to feel better so I have another tip up my sleeve to share with you all. DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE TUNE! If you start out with a tune you will have trouble finding the words if you can do that great yo are a master and should not be reading this post. However, if you stumble like me you should be reading this. Find the words first or chorus or just a title because then as you gather certain words or phrases and put them all together, you can experience with diffrent rythmic patterns and beats. So again I am quoting this in the Genus Book of Music (if there is even one; highly doubt it...) " DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE TUNE SAVE IT FOR THE END!"

Tip #2

Hi to you all,
Unfortunately I have caught a bug recently and before I log out to bed rest I thought I would give you one last tip. Many of you struggle with the format of a song usally the format is listed as this:
Intro, Verse, Chorus, Verse, Chorus, Breakdown, Verse, Chorus, Chorus.
Now you can mix it up don't go by the rule book this time. If you find that it easier to do your own body of a song, and that is great because it is not about the form it about the meaning!

Tip #1

Hello All,
The most challenging aspect of song writing is the words and how you piece them together. For instance my music teacher always says to to rhyme. Rhyming is a poetic and lyrical device but sometimes it might get a little over the top or highly not understandable. So the first thing you should do is grab a thesaurus bookshelf, bookstore, library just get one and get one fast because it is your key to a great song. See then you can rhyme, rhyme words and tunes together and when you do look for one of those words that rhyme in the thesaurus and you'll have a lyrical stanza that moves soothly. Next if your having trouble of chorus putting thoughts together so it ambushes people think about your feelings expriences, and then the title because you could always change your mind about a song so you can connect to people and a hit song! So remember thesauras and feelings and your one the first note!

Welcome All!
